Akbar-Birbal : A Clever Reply from Birbal
Difficulty Level

One day, while having his lunch the Mughal Emperor Akbar asked Birbal if it is possible that a man is lowest and noblest at the same time.
Yes, it is absolutely possible Jahanpanah€, was Birbal'€™s reply.
What? If this is true, bring in one such man to me, ordered the emperor.
Birbal went out and came back with a beggar in just a few minutes.
Birbal, while presenting him in front of the emperor, said, €œI am sure this beggar is the lowest among all subjects.
Perhaps you are right. But how could you say that he is the noblest, as well? the emperor asked.
What did the evergreen Birbal say?

Birbal wittily replied, "Since he has just had the honour of an audience with the great emperor, he is the noblest among all other beggars."
And the Mughal Emperor was once again taken aback by Birbal's reply.
