Three Ants and Triangle Puzzle
Difficulty Level

Three ants are sitting at the three corners of an equilateral triangle. Each ant randomly picks a direction and starts to move along the edge of the triangle. What is the probability that none of the ants collide?Three ants and triangle puzzle

Each ant can move either clockwise or anticlockwise.
Hence total number of outcomes that can happen is 2*2*2=8
And the number of cases in which none of the ants collide = 2 when they all move in the same direction(either clockwise or anticlockwise).

Hence probability that none of the ants collide is 2/8 = 1/4
